MOBILE HOME BOY

Recording Artist • Guitarist • Touring Musician

I'M HERE. LET'S PLAY.

I'm Mobile Home Boy. I've spent decades making loud music, playing stages, building records and putting guitars where guitars probably weren't supposed to be. Metal, country, hip-hop, electronic — I never cared much about the label. If it needed something loud, strange or unmistakably mine, I plugged in.

This is what I'm doing now — and some of the wreckage that got me here.

THIS IS WHERE I BELONG.

Guitar in hand. Crowd in front of me. Available for the right live and touring project.

WHY WE MAKE MUSIC

IT'S THE FANS.

The gear matters. The music matters. But none of it means a damn thing without the people who listen, show up, and keep the music alive.

The industry doesn't make music matter. The fans do.

STILL GIVE A FUCK ABOUT THE MUSIC.
ZERO FUCKS LEFT FOR THE BULLSHIT.

I spent years giving my time and energy to IT and corporations. I know the difference between making a living and selling out. These days, I make music because I want to. If you connect with it, that means everything. If the industry doesn’t approve, I don’t give a fuck.

A clip from Billy that gets to the heart of it. Watch from 0:22.

Professional touring experience includes two years as lead guitarist with Mike Pope and the Pistols (1995–96), with Jeff Lamb on bass and production by Danny Woods of Chairmen of the Board. The surviving archive also documents dedicated guitar work, live-show projects and multitrack production sessions spanning rock, hip-hop, dance and country.

PROJECTS / PEOPLE / SESSIONS

COLLABORATIONS & ROAD HISTORY.

From touring lead guitar to digital production, remixes and cross-genre sessions, these are the people and projects that helped shape the Mobile Home Boy story.

EDDIE VAN HALENDuring the Arizona studio years, Eddie stopped by the home studio and recorded three passes for material connected to the 2006 Strummin’ with the Devil tribute-album period. Eddie also introduced James to bassist Paul Burns.
MISS KIER / DEEE-LITEA WRVU-era connection that grew into collaboration around the DJ Dan project. Miss Kier asked for heavy guitar/metal material for a track, and James supplied several pieces.
DE LA SOUL + FLAVOR FLAVSony contacted James for a mashup project bringing De La Soul and Flavor Flav material together. The recovered archive contains extensive De La Soul session elements from the project.
DJ DANJames worked on the Sony-era DJ Dan project; the original archive includes a dedicated DJ Dan session with liners and individual production elements.
CORY LEEJames served as digital producer on the recovered Cory Lee tracks, then added his signature guitar treatment to the mix. The original production project and Mobile Home Boy METALGOD Mix survive in the archive.
MENACE DA FIENDFor Menace Da Fiend, James recorded the hard guitar element himself — a deliberately extreme death-metal/grindcore collision with hardcore rap. The original ACID project and finished Collab Menace mix survive.
MIKE POPE & THE PISTOLSProfessional touring lead guitarist, 1994–95, alongside bassist Jeff Lamb. The project was produced by Danny Woods of Chairmen of the Board.
THE MOBILE HOME BOY BANDPaul Burns played bass in the 2004–05 Mobile Home Boy project. PJ Clevenger was the original drummer and was later replaced by Ian Falgout after PJ left for a drum-building opportunity.
WHY CAN’T WE GET ALONGA raw one-man country recording: James performed the entire track himself — guitar, bass, drums and vocals — showing the multi-instrumental side behind the heavier material.

The surviving archive includes original multitrack projects, finished mixes, photos and session material. Some stories here are firsthand artist recollections; surviving project files are being restored and published as the archive is recovered.

I'VE BEEN DOING THIS A WHILE.

Radio, records, bands, video and a lot of miles came before today. Here's some of it — preserved because it belongs to the story, not because I'm living in the past.
